Friday, 8/2/24 — pgs 1-197
Okay, so we’re back a lot quicker than I thought. It’s been a day, and I’m approaching page 200 of this book already. I cannot put these books down!!
I was a little confused at the beginning of the book just because I forgot exactly where the last book left off. I read “A Court of Mist and Fury” in November, after borrowing it from my friend Emma, so it had been about 9 or 10 months since I was last with these characters. After a few chapters, I got the gist for the most part. There are a few characters I’m a little foggy on, so hopefully those clear up as I go through the book.
*Spoiler, sorry!!*
The first 100 pages, give or take, is with Feyre back in the Spring Court with Tamlin, away from Rhysand. Despite my obvious favor of Rhys over Tamlin, I thought it was interesting to read what life was like with Tamlin in the spring court again. Also, Feyre playing secret mind games with everyone in Tamlin’s court, to turn them against him was fun to read!
I was worried the whole book would be Feyre trying to get back to Rhysand, but luckily, they reunite about 125ish pages in. And of course, since this series can be categorized under the fairy smut genre, we get some of that too.
Lucien and Nesta have also been a big part of this book so far. Especially Lucien, since he escapes the spring court with Feyre. Nesta is still being difficult and defiant at this point, but I’m excited to see when she finally does let loose a little and join her sisters & newfound “family” in fighting the fairy war ❤
Saturday, 8/17/24 — End of Book
This was my main vacation read this week, and it definitely didn’t disappoint! I read this book for about two weeks. It’s pretty dense and action-packed, so even though it took a little longer to read, it held my attention well.
*Spoilers!!!*
Like I said earlier, we get to learn a lot more about Feyre’s sisters, Nesta and Elain. They’re learning more about what kinds of powers they’ve obtained after becoming High Fae. Another fun part of this book is watching the romantic relationships develop. While the sisters haven’t officially gotten together with anyone just yet, there are indicators of who they might end up with in the following books.
I read the last 100 pages of this book in one sitting, and that ended up being pretty intense. There were about 15 different twists and turns, bombs dropped, etc., but it was a great last section of the book.
Overall, it was a good vacation read that kept me entertained, and I’m really enjoying getting to know these characters more.
Onto the next one: “A Court of Frost and Starlight”
